FRAMELESS WIPER BLADE

In contrast to conventional wiper blades, Ultra Blade is developing a new monolithic windshield wiper that evenly distributes blade pressure and can conform to any windshield, from flat to highly curve. The spoiler-type shape of the wiper blade ensures clear vision even when driving at higher speeds. It is a different about conventional wiper blades which structure without articulated sections, air does not flow through the wiper blade-this means a considerable reduction in wind noise. Further advantages include the fact that it takes up a minimum of visual space and that the wiper arm can be easily hidden behind the engine hood. In winter, the Ultra Blade wiper outperforms conventional wipers because snow and ice cannot build up on the articulated sections. The technology: Materials are superior to SMA which reach their elastic limit at low stress levels, with actuation stress. The most attractive feature of SMA materials is their ability to emulate biological muscles with high fracture tolerance, large actuation strain and inherent vibration damping.
